Jorge Massa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Berdoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Catadão getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Márcio Romero hit a great ball. Jorge Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Berdoi having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Urbano Harriet to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Genaro Mendiko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Renan Mendonça was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 55th minute Jorge Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Berdoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes Halcones Azules got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Ikatz. 59 minutes into the match, Catadão's goal looked a bit too open when Urbano Harriet came free, but Renan Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Massa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Catadão's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 65th minute, Dráuzio França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Catadão's Renan Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Harriet in the 69th minute of play. After 73 played minutes Catadão got a freekick which was hit by Ian da Costa. The supporters of Halcones Azules booed when Catadão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Jorge Massa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vicente Berdoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute.
