Christoph Sönksen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Benat having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Schaffert in the 6th minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silvano Benat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 7 minutes Hermosillo FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Noel Schaffert who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Hermosillo FC's goalie and right to Gunther Daun. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Hermosillo FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 8th match minute, Academica Pulheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacek Thierse to maneuver through the defense. After 9 minutes of play, Hermosillo FC's Ivan Toli made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dariusz Wieberneit was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 13th minute of the match, Noel Schaffert tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Silvano Benat saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Adan Peli's late challenge caught a Academica Pulheim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adan Peli helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Hermosillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adan Peli to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Dionisio Jokin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dariusz Wieberneit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Academica Pulheim's Dariusz Wieberneit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Jokin in the 21st minute of play. With his leg Silvano Benat managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Academica Pulheim's Christoph Sönksen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Biehlert got free with Silvano Benat in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 33 minutes, Serafin Lain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hermosillo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafin Lain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Schaffert came free, but Silvano Benat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Stefan Winitzki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvano Benat. That made the score 2-1 in the 42 minute of play. Ivan Toli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dariusz Wieberneit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Michael Paziorek replaced Hadrian Greilinger. The wind increased when Ivan Toli made the kick off in the second half. Dionisio Jokin did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Dariusz Wieberneit 54 minutes into the match. Gustavo Lizar charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Lizar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Hermosillo FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gustavo Lizar hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Hermosillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Lizar to maneuver through the defense. When Gustavo Lizar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. In the 61st minute, Gustavo Lizar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Dionisio Jokin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dariusz Wieberneit was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 76th minute, Dionisio Jokin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dariusz Wieberneit. The goal made the score 2-3. In the 83rd match minute, Hermosillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Toli to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Dionisio Jokin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the game, Academica Pulheim's Michael Paziorek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvano Benat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. 91 minutes into the match, Noel Schaffert notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Hermosillo FC's Silvano Benat. Silvano Benat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Academica Pulheim booed when Hermosillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Jokin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Academica Pulheim were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hermosillo FC for a fine match.
