Gremio NG's Kauan Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Silveira in the 10th minute of play. Leandro Cardozo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rodrigo Cordeiro. Sebastião Neto hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After 20 played minutes Que se abra o mar got a freekick which was hit by Wellington Rezende. In the 23rd minute of the match, Sebastião Neto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leandro Cardozo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Gremio NG's Sebastião Neto got a free kick in the 28th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Gremio NG's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Amaral came free, but Kauan Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Gino Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauan Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leandro Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Neto in the 39th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronaldo Serra made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Gremio NG's goalkeeper Kauan Machado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinei Silveira. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Baptista in the 55th minute of play forced Gremio NG's goalkeeper Kauan Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Sebastião Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kauan Machado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Silveira in the 68th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Gremio NG's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Mendonça came free, but Kauan Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinei Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Kauan Machado made a huge save. In the 79th minute, Claudinei Silveira reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kauan Machado. The goal made the score 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gino Amaral got free with Kauan Machado in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastião Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Leandro Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Que se abra o mar players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
