Raimundo Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Pedro Alvarenga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Diamante Negro DK - VV's João Pedro Alvarenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano Paraíba in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Gremio NG getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Renatinho Oliveira hit a great ball. Fábio Pinheiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from José Maria de Castro. João Pedro Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Travassos in the 29th minute of the match. João Pedro Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oscar Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fábio Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oscar Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Ortiz couldn't finish the play. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Diamante Negro DK - VV! Raimundo Travassos shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal.
