In the 29th minute Zakariás Tótfalusi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Åke Springfält saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gábor Matolcsy fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szentgotthárd's protests and gave Gábor Matolcsy a yellow card for diving instead. Gnaget AIK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szentgotthárd the free kick. In the 45th minute, Sebastian Godholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes Gnaget AIK got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Godholm. 61 minutes into the match, Gnaget AIK's Herbert Lång sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ákos Sugár narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Szentgotthárd's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Lång came free, but Ákos Sugár reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gnaget AIK made a substitution. Erling Odén replaced Sebastian Godholm. Lóránt Fazekas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 72nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gnaget AIK's Sven-Åke Springfält played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mátyás Kálmán in the 74th minute of play.
