Phillipe Soetemans kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. József Sallói's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willy Van Linthout read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Jullian Vranx took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kornél Hajdú. Kornél Hajdú dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jullian Vranx struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Kornél Hajdú didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bruly. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Szentgotthárd's goalkeeper Kornél Hajdú, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Károly Selymes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Willy Van Linthout made a huge save. A hard shot 23 in the game by József Sallói from a close distance when the talented Willy Van Linthout managed to make a qualified save. Bruly's players were relieved. With a little luck, Bruly's Willy Van Linthout got control of the ball when József Sallói tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kornél Hajdú took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tolek Skoroda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Willy Van Linthout came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Szentgotthárd's József Sallói. But to his dismay, József Sallói quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Bruly's Willy Van Linthout played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by József Sallói in the 35th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Bálint Benedek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Willy Van Linthout quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kornél Hajdú made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jullian Vranx in the 43rd minute of play. Willy Van Linthout showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Konstanty Dzierwa in the 45th minute of the match.

The wind increased when József Sallói made the kick off in the second half. Kornél Hajdú stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jullian Vranx's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Kornél Hajdú made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thys Mangelschot in the 52nd minute of play. Willy Van Linthout took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pancho Puskás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bruly booed when Szentgotthárd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yüksel Sait didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by József Sallói in the 57th minute of play forced Bruly's goalkeeper Willy Van Linthout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes Bruly's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bálint Benedek who took care of the corner kick. Szentgotthárd's Bálint Benedek was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Willy Van Linthout in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience was convinced that József Sallói's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willy Van Linthout was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Willy Van Linthout showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Károly Selymes in the 64th minute of the match. After 67 played minutes Bruly got a freekick which was hit by Tolek Skoroda. A collision led to Bruly getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Tolek Skoroda hit a great ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Willy Van Linthout showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Szentgotthárd! The goalkeeper, Kornél Hajdú, was totally fooled by Bruly's Alek Thys, who 77 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Willy Van Linthout took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Károly Selymes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st match minute, Bruly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Knudsen to maneuver through the defense. Yüksel Sait kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Willy Van Linthout had in the 91stth minute some difficulties stopping Konstanty Dzierwa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Pancho Puskás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Van Linthout having to interfere. After 94 played minutes Szentgotthárd got a freekick which was hit by Konstanty Dzierwa. The audience was convinced that Károly Selymes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willy Van Linthout was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bruly had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
