Sandu Vlaicu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlhami Akyazıcı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute Primitivo Grau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandu Vlaicu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandu Vlaicu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Primitivo Grau's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by İrfan Attar in the 11th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Urzicuța getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Jerry Talbot hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olov Ahlbeck in the 14th minute of play forced FC Urzicuța's goalkeeper Sandu Vlaicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18thth minute of the game İrfan Attar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ivan Chiuzbaian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of İrfan Attar's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. FC Urzicuța's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cristi Chivu in the 20th minute. A nice corner shot did that Aurel Beldeanu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ivan Chiuzbaian quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sandu Vlaicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Senne Rondou made in the 24th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Apolo Mingo immediately put the ball in play. 26 minutes into the game, Aurel Beldeanu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ivan Chiuzbaian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Sen Yang in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandu Vlaicu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sandu Vlaicu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 31st minute of the match. Zhao Sen Yang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sandu Vlaicu having to make a save. Sandu Vlaicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from İrfan Attar went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zhao Sen Yang was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Zhao Sen Yang took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Sandu Vlaicu to make any attempt to save it. When Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an all-out effort, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Sandu Vlaicu threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zhao Sen Yang, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 74 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when İrfan Attar came free, but Ivan Chiuzbaian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petre Iftode got free with Sandu Vlaicu in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aurel Beldeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Chiuzbaian having to interfere. Sandu Vlaicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Primitivo Grau in the 87th minute. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sorin Bârlă in the 92nd minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Urzicuța fans cheered their team off the field, for while Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
