Waldir Laguna was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 6 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the game, one of Trifillia.FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dimitris Vasilakos had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Andrea Mariani's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Trifillia.FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felice Tacco came free, but Dimitris Vasilakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Christos Bekos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio O'Connell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Maritek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Bekos came free, but Hélio O'Connell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Vidal Samano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Hélio O'Connell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferruccio Zarillo in the 34th minute of play forced Trifillia.FC's goalkeeper Dimitris Vasilakos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Trifillia.FC got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Orixe. Dimitris Vasilakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ettore Santo in the 43rd minute of the match.
In the 53rd minute, Maritek FC's Eugenio Palumbo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dimitris Vasilakos. Dimitris Vasilakos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. The supporters of Trifillia.FC booed when Maritek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amola Bamba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maritek FC made a substitution. Alfredo Toschi replaced Ettore Santo. Arturo Orixe might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélio O'Connell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Orixe ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Trifillia.FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Tilemachos Ntentas hit a great ball. With a little luck, Trifillia.FC's Dimitris Vasilakos got control of the ball when Tomás Moita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arturo Orixe made a great header on Trifillia.FC's corner, it was just that Maritek FC's Hélio O'Connell managed to reach the ball for a save.
