Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Sinan Okergun was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Óscar Cordoba in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Óscar Cordoba stood somewhat misplaced when Sinan Okergun came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 23 minute. 26 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eloy Mazuste narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Óscar Cordoba threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Christian Bergqvist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Though ot was a great shot Tigres Ñacuñán FC's keeper Eloy Mazuste was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Diego Maradona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting de Gijón's Wayne Rooney was substituted for Alejandro Rufo. 66 minutes into the match, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's goalkeeper Eloy Mazuste had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wayne Rooney. Eloy Mazuste was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wayne Rooney showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 94 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sporting de Gijón had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
