Júlio Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Aureo in the 2nd minute of play. Vikingos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrigo Jakobe in the 3rd minute. In the 7th minute, Honorato Aureo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Rocha got free with Apolo Giraldo in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 minutes of play, Vikingos FC's Honorato Aureo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Mello was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Vikingos FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Pedro Jakes hit a great ball. Júlio Mello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonzalo Argoitz went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. When Serginho Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's protests and gave Serginho Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Serginho Arantes hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Rodrigo Jakobe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Baumar kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A hard shot by Paulo-Roberto Abraão from long distance, 42 minutes into the match, got Apolo Giraldo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Rocha got free with Apolo Giraldo in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Argoitz made a kick off. The supporters of INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA booed when Vikingos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Argoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute Sílvio Luís Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Giraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apolo Giraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Apolo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Arantes in the 65th minute of the match. A collision led to Vikingos FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Marcos Baumar hit a great ball. Vikingos FC's Igor Havier was substituted for Benjamin Hartz. 70 minutes into the match, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goalkeeper Júlio Mello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gonzalo Argoitz. Marcos Baumar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 80 minutes into the match. Paulo-Roberto Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th match minute, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Pinho to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Edgar Mandrak got a free kick in the 95th minute.
