In the 21st minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Bernardinho Palmeira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bernardinho Palmeira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bernardinho Palmeira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 20th minute, one of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's Samir Hazer got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Vinícius Macedo. A collision led to Cruzeiro Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Naldo Guedes hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Samir Hazer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vinícius Macedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Samir Hazer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vinícius Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samir Hazer, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samir Hazer got free with Vinícius Macedo in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after İZZEDDİN EL KASSAM TUGAYI's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Renatinho Linhares got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Fernandão de Amaral got a free kick in the 95th minute.
