Gandalf Grey ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 7 in the game by Olimpiu Postelnicescu from a close distance when the talented Aurelian Vârlan managed to make a qualified save. Minerul Baita -MM-'s players were relieved. Gandalf Grey in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the last second Aurelian Vârlan throw himself and got hold of the ball when Olimpiu Postelnicescu in the 18thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 23 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Postelnicescu came free, but Aurelian Vârlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornel Mihai charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornel Mihai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cornel Mihai kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Valar's goalkeeper Francisc Ghionescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolae Mandache came free, but Francisc Ghionescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Cosmin Bobeica notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of The Valar's Francisc Ghionescu. Francisc Ghionescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cosmin Bobeica made a kick off. Gandalf Grey struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Aurelian Vârlan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Valar. Aurelian Vârlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olimpiu Postelnicescu's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Postelnicescu in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelian Vârlan saved Minerul Baita -MM- from getting behind. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Corneliu Nae was substituted for Maxim Grecescu. After 68 played minutes The Valar got a freekick which was hit by Virgil Meleșcanu. Minerul Baita -MM- made a substitution. Albert Oncescu replaced Gică Aldulescu. Aurelian Vârlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gandalf Grey, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Akim Miner got a free kick in the 91st minute. 96 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Gandalf Grey came free, but Aurelian Vârlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score was 1-1 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

In the 102nd minute, Horia Boerescu made a precise shot to the right of Aurelian Vârlan. Minerul Baita -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The The Valar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Minerul Baita -MM- had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
