Laércio Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes LA COSA NOSTRA got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Vieira. In the 11th minute of the match Leonardo Henriksson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evandro Azeredo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Leal Validos short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Karl Stjernfelt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leal Valido got free with Karl Stjernfelt in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the match, Knut Rolfsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evandro Azeredo. LA COSA NOSTRA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Knut Rolfsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Evandro Azeredo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnny Jernberg went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. A collision led to LA COSA NOSTRA getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Laércio Vieira hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, LA COSA NOSTRA's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Jernberg came free, but Evandro Azeredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Leonardo Henriksson put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mansfield Town FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Karl Stjernfelt had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Laércio Vieira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Afonso Portugal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leal Valido was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Knut Rolfsson notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of LA COSA NOSTRA's Evandro Azeredo. Evandro Azeredo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 62nd minute Leal Valido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Stjernfelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Stjernfelt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Altino Candeias in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adérito Castro in the 65th minute of play forced Mansfield Town FC's goalkeeper Karl Stjernfelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Brás scored 1-4 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl Stjernfelt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mansfield Town FC made a substitution. Staffan Kristiansson replaced Boris Sandberg. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malte Sundström during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of LA COSA NOSTRA booed when Mansfield Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Stjernfelt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. In the 89th minute Altino Candeias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Stjernfelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mansfield Town FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
