ORIZABA F.C.'s Dante Txema got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gervasio Sazon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wictor Pihlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Lapurdi charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fidel Lapurdi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, ORIZABA F.C.'s Fidel Lapurdi got a free kick in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ORIZABA F.C.'s zone, Stig-Arne Ekblom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervasio Sazon came out of the goal and Stig-Arne Ekblom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jens Ahlroht stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Gervasio Sazon made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Bengt-Rune Törnkvist sent off a good shot on target. Dante Txema scored 0-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jens Ahlroht, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jens Ahlroht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dante Txema in the 37th minute of play. Wargön's Jens Ahlroht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Txema in the 42nd minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Andreas Back put in a rough tackle. Andreas Back hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fidel Lapurdi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Dante Txema came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the ORIZABA F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dante Txema couldn't finish the play. If Sigvard Wallander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens Ahlroht made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Dante Txema sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Wargön booed when ORIZABA F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Oliverios didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Isidoro Xacintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, ORIZABA F.C.'s Jens Ahlroht threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manuel Macias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dante Txema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sigvard Wallander in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervasio Sazon prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The ORIZABA F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ORIZABA F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
