Eugeniusz Osikowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernanco Peso in the 32nd minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Delfino Rosario. In the 41st minute, Hüseyin Turan Elçibey made a precise shot to the right of Eugeniusz Osikowicz. FC Torpedo Dabrowa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. FC Torpedo Dabrowa's Eugeniusz Osikowicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernanco Peso in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of FC Torpedo Dabrowa booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gertjan De Ryck ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sporting Cristal's Fernanco Peso was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eugeniusz Osikowicz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sporting Cristal's Llorienzo Buenaga was substituted for Ludomil Kolba. Sporting Cristal's Christian Luciano was substituted for Fernanco Peso. In the 76th minute of the game Ludomir Fujarczuk made a throw-in which Adam Dziatkowski played forward. With a little luck, FC Torpedo Dabrowa's Eugeniusz Osikowicz got control of the ball when Christian Luciano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute Adam Dziatkowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Iruegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting Cristal's Gertjan De Ryck got a free kick in the 82nd minute. If Adam Dziatkowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugeniusz Osikowicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Luciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.

The Sporting Cristal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
