After 9 minutes of play, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marian Văduvescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu got control of the ball when Miroslav Klose tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nae Griguță made in the 16th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Constantin Deșliu however managed to control. After 17 played minutes FC Steaua Pildesti got a freekick which was hit by Robert Antohi. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Bernardo Simões shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marian Văduvescu but with some difficulty. Kristopher Johnson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip Paulescu's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miroslav Klose in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Văduvescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bernardo Simões in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Zygmunt Dunajski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miroslav Klose could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Marian Văduvescu made a huge save. Nae Griguță got a throw-in 42 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Constantin Deșliu. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Miroslav Klose managed to get in a good position for a shot. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Miroslav Klose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marian Văduvescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miroslav Klose was the one to do the kick off. Kristopher Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Barbu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miroslav Klose might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marian Văduvescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miroslav Klose ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miroslav Klose in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s Miroslav Klose sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marian Văduvescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Miroslav Klose ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Văduvescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. made a substitution. José Guimarães replaced Gigel Durbac. In the 77th minute QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C. were awarded a corner. Bernardo Simões went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on QUINTA DAS LUZES F.C.'s corner Alexandre Silva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marian Văduvescu quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the FC Steaua Pildesti defense, Miroslav Klose kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Văduvescu. The FC Steaua Pildesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Văduvescu should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miroslav Klose in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marian Văduvescu saved FC Steaua Pildesti from getting behind. After 84 minutes, Miroslav Klose made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Nicolae Barbu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Klose in the 93rd minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
