The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Boleslaw Sidorowicz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Benedito Trigo made a huge save. Beto Heidemann's late challenge caught a Simbo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Beto Heidemann helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yu Yang Sang was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes Simbo FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Serafim Barros who took care of the corner kick. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Tincho Palermo made the kick off and play began. A collision led to Simbo FC getting a freekick after 101 minutes play. Piotr Ostrowski hit a great ball. 105 minutes into the match, Simbo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Salles came free, but Mías Khalifa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tincho Palermo in the 114th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 115th minute, Fábio da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sagarana Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mías Khalifa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score was still level after an even and exciting first-half in extra time. The players took a moment to grab a drink and get instructions from their managers before swapping ends.

Tincho Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedito Trigo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 124th minute of play. 133 minutes into the game, Tincho Palermo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Benedito Trigo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Simbo FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
