The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Niclas Monschke came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the SSV Ulm 1846 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niclas Monschke couldn't finish the play. Orhan Veli Mirac's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kryspin Cupial read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. SSV Ulm 1846's Niclas Monschke got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Niclas Monschke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miroslav Motuz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orhan Veli Mirac took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kryspin Cupial. Kryspin Cupial dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. FC XY's Miroslav Motuz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save FC XY from getting a goal against them. The referee gave FC XY a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Orhan Veli Mirac, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SSV Ulm 1846's Kryspin Cupial. 0-2. 38 minutes into the game, Martin Zelenák threw the ball into play from the sideline. SSV Ulm 1846's Jose Ramon Talcao quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orhan Veli Mirac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Niclas Monschke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

FC XY made a substitution. Daniel Pavlovič replaced Ján Krempašský. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Pavlovič to strike the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Martin Zelenák in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SSV Ulm 1846's Jose Ramon Talcao. In the 55th match minute, SSV Ulm 1846 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephane Bosch to maneuver through the defense. Kryspin Cupial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Slaninka in the 57th minute of play. Miroslav Motuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute of the match SSV Ulm 1846 got a corner. FC XY's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sven-Olof Lilja ran over to the corner to take the kick. Benedetto Prüfer kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes in the game Martin Slaninka got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. 72 minutes into the match, FC XY's goal looked a bit too open when Niclas Monschke came free, but Miroslav Motuz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, SSV Ulm 1846's Kryspin Cupial got control of the ball when Daniel Pavlovič tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the FC XY defense, Niclas Monschke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miroslav Motuz. The FC XY fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miroslav Motuz should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orhan Veli Mirac got free with Kryspin Cupial in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, FC XY's Orhan Veli Mirac sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kryspin Cupial narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SSV Ulm 1846's Stephane Bosch got a free kick in the 84th minute. If Niclas Monschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miroslav Motuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niclas Monschke in the 96th minute of the match.

The FC XY players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
