The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Xaiver Rosende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Garrincha in the 7th minute of the match. Xaiver Rosende made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Zhang Chen sent off a good shot on target. After 12 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Infante. Manoel Garrincha kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Péter Pálffy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gong Ao Guang in the 16th minute of play. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Garrincha, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 18th minute Manoel Garrincha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaiver Rosende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Capivara FC's Manoel Garrincha, in the 19th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Capivara FC. After a rather tough play, Capivara FC's Zhang Chen got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Xaiver Rosende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zhang Chen in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 30th minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Péter Pálffy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neycho Mudrov in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Xaiver Rosende had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doriva Tavares. In the 43rdth minute of the game Neycho Mudrov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Peñarol from getting a goal against them. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

With a little luck, Capivara FC's Péter Pálffy got control of the ball when Gong Ao Guang tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 53 minutes of play, Capivara FC's Neycho Mudrov made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xaiver Rosende was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Doriva Tavares in the 57th minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Xaiver Rosende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doriva Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute of the match Capivara FC got a corner. C.A. Peñarol's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zhang Chen ran over to the corner to take the kick. Zhang Chen made a great header on Capivara FC's corner, it was just that C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende managed to reach the ball for a save. 66 minutes into the game, Gong Ao Guang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Péter Pálffy. Gong Ao Guang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Xaiver Rosende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinícius Junior in the 69th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius Junior came free, but Xaiver Rosende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Junior, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute, Manoel Garrincha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Goran Lindegger. Neither team could find the winning goal during normal time. The second half finished 2-2. Extra-time would have to be played.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Neycho Mudrov in Capivara FC was the one to initiate the kick off. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Peñarol from getting a goal against them. In the 105th minute Vinícius Junior shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaiver Rosende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 107th minute, Anselmo Velin managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Peñarol's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Velin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Péter Pálffy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neycho Mudrov, who was totally free with the ball in the 110th minute. The Capivara FC players wondered just what they needed to do win this one. 105 minutes had now been played and the teams were still tied. Penalties were starting to look likely.

Péter Pálffy made a fantastic save in the 119th minute, when Anselmo Velin sent off a good shot on target. Xaiver Rosende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinícius Junior in the 120th minute of the match. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Junior in the 123rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinícius Junior in the 128th minute of play forced C.A. Peñarol's goalkeeper Xaiver Rosende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Junior in the 130th minute of play. Bogumil Andrzejewski kicked well hit freekick during the 131st minute of the match. After 30 minutes of extra-time there was still no winner. The players now faced the much dreaded penalty shoot-out.

In the 135th minute there was a penalty for C.A. Peñarol. Anselmo Velin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Péter Pálffy. 2-3. Xaiver Rosende had in the 136thth minute some difficulties stopping Neycho Mudrov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Neycho Mudrov led 136 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 3-3. Capivara FC:s Xaiver Rosende showed great skill when he stopped Don Pico:s penalty. A hard and well directed shot from Jimeno Infante led 140 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Capivara FC's Péter Pálffy became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 4-4. In the 141st minute there was a penalty for Capivara FC. João Francisco Mota stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Xaiver Rosende. 5-4. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Capivara FC had played much better football throughout.
