Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Santo came free, but Gustave Souchu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maritek FC's Hélio O'Connell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrille Melon in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Djibril Mourot in the 31st minute of play forced Maritek FC's goalkeeper Hélio O'Connell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maritek FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferruccio Zarillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustave Souchu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ferruccio Zarillos short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Gustave Souchu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 43 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Souchu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferruccio Zarillo. Ferruccio Zarillo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Gustave Souchu when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferruccio Zarillo to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Ferruccio Zarillo put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gustave Souchu. 55 minutes into the match, R.C. The audience thought a goal was coming when Djibril Mourot got free with Hélio O'Connell in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferruccio Zarillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Souchu having to interfere. Maritek FC made a substitution. Tomás Moita replaced Ferruccio Zarillo. Gustave Souchu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Moita in the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Moita in the 82nd minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Souchu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Tomás Moita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Souchu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
