PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's John Osomo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quentin Platt in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Edgard Dubardo got a free kick in the 13th minute. Artur Brudzisz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Örjan Björkdahl in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Horaţiu Bacalbașa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Osomo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Örjan Björkdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Brudzisz came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Örjan Björkdahl. But to his dismay, Örjan Björkdahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 32 minutes into the game, Denílson Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bacardi Black Bats the free kick. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's John Osomo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 34th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermenegildo Rebelo couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Bacalbașa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. João Arruda hit a great ball. John Osomo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 54th minute of play. John Osomo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Bacalbașa, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. John Osomo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 57th minute of the match. Artur Brudzisz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clarence Seedorf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Zé Ortiz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Michal Parzysz, made in the 66th minute of the game. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's Bruno do Vale was substituted for Clarence Seedorf. Bacardi Black Bats's Alexandre Mourinho was substituted for Cristóvão França. Bacardi Black Bats's Alexandre Mafra was substituted for Quentin Platt. After a defensive mix-up in Bacardi Black Bats's zone, Ademar Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Brudzisz came out of the goal and Ademar Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Horaţiu Bacalbașa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Osomo having to interfere. The supporters of PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelito Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Rodrigues came free in the 85th minute and tried to tip the ball over Artur Brudzisz, but to the joy of Bacardi Black Bats's supporters the ball went over. In the 90th minute, Bruno do Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Artur Brudzisz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ made a substitution. Alexandre Falcão replaced Zé Ortiz.

PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
