With a little luck, Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg got control of the ball when Vagner Løve tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match Inter de Chillán got a corner. Jumentus Rock Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tobías Izamit ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinaldo Arce got free with Anton Björnberg in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomás Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vatan Enfal, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Jumentus Rock Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Favoretto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
