The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Asier in the 3rd minute of play forced Rayo Violeta FC's goalkeeper Dunixi Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th match minute, Rayo Violeta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enol Bermudo to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Rayo Violeta FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leones FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Dunixi Andrade, was totally fooled by Leones FC's Dante Mannie, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Martin Asier took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dunixi Andrade. Dunixi Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 23 minutes into the game, Enol Bermudo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rayo Violeta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leones FC the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Rayo Violeta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enol Bermudo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilfredo Quinto in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dunixi Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 27 minutes, Wilfredo Quinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leones FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Quinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Asier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Dunixi Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Dunixi Andrade successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Martin Asier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rayo Violeta FC's Dunixi Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Quinto in the 39th minute of play. Dunixi Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Asier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leones FC were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Rayo Violeta FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dante Mannie took the corner. The corner ended in Dante Mannie almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rayo Violeta FC's Dunixi Andrade did a great save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Quinto made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Wilfredo Quinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfredo Quinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dunixi Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Martin Asier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Florinio made a great header on Leones FC's corner, it was just that Rayo Violeta FC's Dunixi Andrade managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 60th minute, Wilfredo Quinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dunixi Andrade was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 67 minutes into the match, Martin Asier notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Rayo Violeta FC's Dunixi Andrade. Dunixi Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leopoldo Lastur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Oblanca in the 71st minute. Ariel Cores kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rayo Violeta FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Leones FC. Dante Mannie stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dunixi Andrade. 6-1. In the 80th minute, Wilfredo Quinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leones FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. 89 minutes into the match, Rayo Violeta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Quinto came free, but Dunixi Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90thth minute of the game Nicanor Florinio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rayo Violeta FC's Dunixi Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rayo Violeta FC's zone, Wilfredo Quinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dunixi Andrade came out of the goal and Wilfredo Quinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leones FC's Wilfredo Quinto in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rayo Violeta FC's goalie prevented a goal.
