Descamisados CF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvaro Sforza ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Alvaro Sforza almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Descamisados CF's Lawrence Lawless did a great save. Lawrence Lawless made an important save on a dangerous shot by Javier Della Francesca in the 15th minute. Cristoforo Brillante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Baraquiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Baraquiel in the 22nd minute of play forced AC Roma's goalkeeper Cristoforo Brillante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AC Roma booed when Descamisados CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darwin Bramantio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, AC Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Thomas came free, but Cristoforo Brillante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Baraquiel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristoforo Brillante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 50th minute of the match, Jairo Baraquiel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Cristoforo Brillante was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th minute of the match, Anselmo Thomas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cristoforo Brillante saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The crowd rose to their feet as Descamisados CF's Jairo Baraquiel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristoforo Brillante. That made the score 0-1 after 59 minutes of play. Descamisados CF made a substitution. Adrian Txartiko replaced Primeiro Imperiale. In the 66th match minute, AC Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Leão to maneuver through the defense. Cristoforo Brillante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Salomone in the 67th minute of play. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Alvaro Sforza sped through Descamisados CF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lawrence Lawless. In the 74th minute, Alessio Odisio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, Adrian Txartiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Descamisados CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Txartiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Adrian Txartiko dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cristoforo Brillante, 1-2. The Descamisados CF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Descamisados CF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
