A collision led to Maramures-MM- getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Dumitru Tudorică hit a great ball. Ciprian Tătăruşanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Frunză in the 3rd minute of play. Rovine Craiova's Victor Negara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Rovine Craiova from getting a goal against them. Victor Negara made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Rik Sligter sent off a good shot on target. 10 minutes into the match, Maramures-MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Jyrki Saarelainen came free, but Ciprian Tătăruşanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Manole Frunză shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciprian Tătăruşanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Maramures-MM-'s Cornel Gorgan in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Maramures-MM-'s Ciprian Tătăruşanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manole Frunză in the 27th minute of play. Ciprian Tătăruşanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manole Frunză went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 29th minute, Flavius Simionescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rik Sligter scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Negara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Victor Negara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornel Gorgan, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, one of Rovine Craiova:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rovine Craiova. Rovine Craiova:s Victor Negara showed great skill when he stopped Luca Dominte:s penalty. Luca Dominte did an outstanding performance 41 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-1 to the right of an irritated Victor Negara in the goal. Victor Negara was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maroš Rychtář showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 44 minute of play. With a little luck, Rovine Craiova's Victor Negara got control of the ball when Dumitru Tudorică tried to sneak it across the goal line.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manole Frunză was the one to do the kick off.
