The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Silvinho Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iggi Burton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Vidigai SC's Walmyr de Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iggi Burton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Adolfo Riley was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 11 minutes into the match. Ricardinho de Alcântara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iggi Burton. Aitkenvale's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Walmyr de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iggi Burton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vidigai SC's Silvinho Custódio got a free kick in the 16th minute. Corder Traverss short, quick shot in the 17thth minute got Afonsinho Félix to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 21 minutes into the game, Vidigai SC's Silvinho Custódio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iggi Burton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Walmyr de Lara fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vidigai SC's protests and gave Walmyr de Lara a yellow card for diving instead. Walmyr de Lara hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Aitkenvale's Corder Travers got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Silvinho Custódio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iggi Burton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Trigo in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Walmyr de Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iggi Burton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Aitkenvale's Iggi Burton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo do Vale in the 35th minute of play. Artie Voller's late challenge caught a Vidigai SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artie Voller helped the player get up and apologised. In the 38th minute Ediberto Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iggi Burton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iggi Burton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Silvinho Custódio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vidigai SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ediberto Trigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corder Travers in the 51st minute of play forced Vidigai SC's goalkeeper Afonsinho Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aitkenvale's Iggi Burton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Aitkenvale from getting a goal against them. After 56 played minutes Aitkenvale got a freekick which was hit by Bishop Groves. Ricardinho de Alcântara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iggi Burton. Aitkenvale's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Iggi Burton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Trigo in the 59th minute of play. Brayden Coote hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Narciso Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Iggi Burton made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Narciso Costa could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Iggi Burton however easily saved by the left post. Iggi Burton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute Ediberto Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iggi Burton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvinho Custódio hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Aitkenvale's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Trigo came free, but Iggi Burton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aitkenvale's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Narciso Costa scored to the left of an out of position Iggi Burton, making the score, 0-5. In the 77th minute, Vidigai SC's Walmyr de Lara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iggi Burton. Iggi Burton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. With a little luck, Aitkenvale's Iggi Burton got control of the ball when Narciso Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bishop Groves hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Iggi Burton successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 84th minute, Vidigai SC's Walmyr de Lara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. In the 89th minute, Ediberto Trigo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iggi Burton. The goal made the score 0-8. A collision led to Aitkenvale getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Fletcher Tupman hit a great ball. Iggi Burton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ediberto Trigo in the 93rd minute of play. Vidigai SC played a much better game than Aitkenvale and deserved their victory. The Aitkenvale players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
