The supporters of CD Florencia booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paiva Escabi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, CD Florencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Falguera to maneuver through the defense. Mora Insausti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Urquiza's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the game, CD Florencia's Danilo Gordon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Urquiza was the one to do the kick off. Urritz Hurtaran was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Urritz Hurtaran got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Astillero del Guayas's zone, Joffre Arizabal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xayvion Lojo came out of the goal and Joffre Arizabal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute, Victoro Selgas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Xayvion Lojo. The goal made the score 4-3. With a little luck, Astillero del Guayas's Xayvion Lojo got control of the ball when Yaniusky Chavarria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marco Urquiza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mora Insausti having to interfere. Yaniusky Chavarria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Xayvion Lojo made a huge save. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Ximun Tocos hit a great ball. Ximun Tocos might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mora Insausti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ximun Tocos ran back to his position shaking his head. After 70 minutes of play, CD Florencia's Danilo Gordon made it 4-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xayvion Lojo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 75 minutes into the game, Danilo Gordon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-5. Xayvion Lojo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as CD Florencia's Danilo Gordon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Xayvion Lojo. That made the score 4-6 after 80 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Oro in the 84th minute of play forced CD Florencia's goalkeeper Mora Insausti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. CD Florencia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
