Aitkenvale's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Gustavo Oro scored to the left of an out of position Iggi Burton, making the score, 1-1. 21 minutes into the match, Aitkenvale's goalkeeper Iggi Burton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ximun Tocos. Marco Urquiza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Iggi Burton made a huge save. Corder Travers hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Gustavo Oro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astillero del Guayas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Oro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when Aitkenvale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corder Travers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco Urquiza to make the kick off. Xayvion Lojo came out of the goal and Corder Travers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Massey in the 89th minute of play forced Aitkenvale's goalkeeper Iggi Burton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iggi Burton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Oro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Astillero del Guayas fully deserved thier win.
