The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, FC Nereta's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell-Arne Åberg came free, but Izidors Boldāns reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Izidors Boldāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian May in the 11th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ēriks Mincis got free with Azam Sum in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moodys IF's Azam Sum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Moodys IF from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute Brian May shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Izidors Boldāns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Nereta's Izidors Boldāns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johannes Tidén in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute Kjell-Arne Åberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Izidors Boldāns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mareks Blumbergs in the 23rd minute of play forced Moodys IF's goalkeeper Azam Sum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Izidors Boldāns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo-Erik Högberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 minutes of play, FC Nereta's Ēriks Mincis made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Azam Sum was left in no man's land by his defense there! Izidors Boldāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Tidén in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Brian May notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of FC Nereta's Izidors Boldāns. Izidors Boldāns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Izidors Boldāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bo-Erik Högberg in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Nereta's Ilgvars Ledgrauzis got a free kick in the 46th minute. Erik Pettersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Izidors Boldāns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Moodys IF were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mareks Blumbergs to make the kick off. Kjell-Arne Åberg was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Moodys IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Izidors Boldāns made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brian May in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Moodys IF's goal looked a bit too open when Kaspars Budavs came free, but Azam Sum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute of the match, Barnabás Selymes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Izidors Boldāns was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Moodys IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kjell-Arne Åberg in the 59th minute. FC Nereta's Izidors Boldāns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell-Arne Åberg in the 64th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Kjell-Arne Åberg took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Izidors Boldāns to make any attempt to save it. Izidors Boldāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell-Arne Åberg in the 70th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Nereta defense, Kjell-Arne Åberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Izidors Boldāns. The FC Nereta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Izidors Boldāns should have stopped the shot. Andreas Carlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Izidors Boldāns having to interfere. Azam Sum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimonds Vitals, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Bo-Erik Högberg hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Moodys IF's Azam Sum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mareks Blumbergs in the 83rd minute of play. Izidors Boldāns was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Brian May capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brian May really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Bo-Erik Högberg came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Izidors Boldāns could save by the left post. A collision led to FC Nereta getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Mareks Blumbergs hit a great ball. Izidors Boldāns was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brian May showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 93 minute of play. Izidors Boldāns made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Brian May sent off a good shot on target. Moodys IF played a much better game than FC Nereta and deserved their victory. The FC Nereta players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
