Jano Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova FC's Jano Queiroz got a free kick in the 6th minute. David Freitas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ademir Cruz. Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Couto during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, TAQUARI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Couto to maneuver through the defense. Ademir Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 31st minute Wanderson Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jano Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adhemar Freire scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jano Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ademir Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Freitas in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Penha came free, but Jano Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdir Peres hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Soares made a kick off. After a rather tough play, TAQUARI FC's Augusto Ramos got a free kick in the 51st minute. After 52 played minutes, Vila Nova FC's Henrique Dantas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jano Neves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vila Nova FC reached it. Valdir Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Wanderson Baptista could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Jano Neves however easily saved by the left post. After 55 minutes, Carlos Fernando Ramalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TAQUARI FC and the Vila Nova FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Fernando Ramalho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Jano Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Penha in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Freire in the 61st minute of play forced TAQUARI FC's goalkeeper Jano Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, TAQUARI FC's Váldson da Silveira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Váldson da Silveira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of TAQUARI FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Váldson da Silveira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 64 played minutes TAQUARI FC got a freekick which was hit by Váldson da Silveira. 68 minutes into the match, Cristian Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ademir Cruz. Vila Nova FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. TAQUARI FC made a substitution. Sílvio Sena replaced Vivaldo Leão. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Walmyr Penha took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Jano Neves to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to TAQUARI FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Augusto Ramos hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, TAQUARI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rony Gomes came free, but Jano Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Felipe Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ademir Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Vila Nova FC's Adhemar Freire slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jano Neves. That made the score 3-4 after 91 minutes of play. The TAQUARI FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Vila Nova FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Vila Nova FC.
