Alberto Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilvan Paraíba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 27th minute of play forced Bitelon FC - SAF's goalkeeper Gilvan Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the SORRISO E. C. defense, Enéas Soeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdo Catarinense. The SORRISO E. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdo Catarinense should have stopped the shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enéas Soeiro in the 55th minute of play. Fiori Souto's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fiori Souto helped the player get up and apologised. SORRISO E. C.'s Yan Penha was substituted for Jairo Madureira. In the 57th match minute, Bitelon FC - SAF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Souto to maneuver through the defense. After 70 minutes, Alberto Mendonça made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Bitelon FC - SAF's Gilvan Paraíba tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
