With a little luck, Juventudes Libertárias's Mauro Eliazar got control of the ball when Humberto Leocadio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Juventudes Libertárias's Lúcio da Silveira got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Márcio Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juventudes Libertárias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LA DEL MONO the free kick. Márcio Santos hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Noel Valle fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Juventudes Libertárias's protests and gave Noel Valle a yellow card for diving instead. Mauro Eliazar made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Humberto Leocadio sent off a good shot on target. After 31 minutes Juventudes Libertárias's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edelmiro Paskal who took care of the corner kick. Edelmiro Paskal made a great header on LA DEL MONO's corner, it was just that Juventudes Libertárias's Mauro Eliazar managed to reach the ball for a save. Mauro Eliazar made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Betinho Falcão sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice moves Humberto Leocadio could shoot a difficult shot in the 34th minute, which Mauro Eliazar however easily saved by the left post. If Gilson Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute, Agostinho Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Jacinto Fe. LA DEL MONO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mateo Rudolfo kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Márcio Santos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacinto Fe skillfully saved the ball. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juventudes Libertárias's goalkeeper Mauro Eliazar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agostinho Almeida made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Betinho Falcão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA DEL MONO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Falcão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 53 played minutes Juventudes Libertárias got a freekick which was hit by Ritvaldis Rau. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Leocadio in the 55th minute of play forced Juventudes Libertárias's goalkeeper Mauro Eliazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Eliazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Falcão in the 56th minute of play. Gilson Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the LA DEL MONO defense, Alexsandro Simão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacinto Fe. The LA DEL MONO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacinto Fe should have stopped the shot. Humberto Leocadio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Eliazar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Zhuo Sha Le hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. LA DEL MONO's Jacinto Fe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save LA DEL MONO from getting a goal against them. Mauro Eliazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Humberto Leocadio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
