A collision led to ANAHA FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Gilbert Vallade hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Marinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sacha Bové was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. After 20 minutes of play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Nilmar Marinho made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ludovic Guillois to make the kick off.
