The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ham Kaas in the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, Haroldo Weather notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jan Zenden got a throw-in 10 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Hugon Wolicki. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Weather in the 12th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Haroldo Weather's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Tomas Illescas scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elbert Haar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Weather, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Pannekoeken's Haroldo Weather dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Weather in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Jan Zenden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Pannekoeken booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ham Kaas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ham Kaas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emil Skikiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. Fernando Geraets walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Weather in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ham Kaas came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes in the game, Haroldo Weather dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. When Haroldo Weather came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Pannekoeken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Weather couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute Haroldo Weather shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Weather in the 71st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Haroldo Weather's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Haroldo Weather in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pannekoeken were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
