The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Mero got free with Dante Lacasa in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Primitivo Lander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s Alejandro Terciero got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s Alejandro Terciero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Pinocho Pelotari F.C. from getting a goal against them. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
