An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Olo in the 3rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Mero in the 7th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Pinocho Pelotari F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Niceto Resto. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute of play forced Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s goalkeeper Alejandro Terciero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Lander hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Alejandro Terciero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Olo scored 1-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alejandro Terciero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 20th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Alejandro Terciero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Mero in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Terciero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. In the 36th minute Elpidio Mero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pinocho Pelotari F.C. getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Elpidio Mero hit a great ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Mero in the 50th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Mero in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Ondino in the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 59th minute. When Primitivo Lander fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s protests and gave Primitivo Lander a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Pinocho Pelotari F.C. made a substitution. Maximo Mitxaut replaced Åge Thodesen. In the 67th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Elpidio Mero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Elpidio Mero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Mero in the 73rd minute of play. In the 73rdth minute of the game Elpidio Mero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Niceto Resto kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Alejandro Terciero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Mero in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Ondino, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. A collision led to Pinocho Pelotari F.C. getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Nontas Iordanidis hit a great ball. After 90 minutes of play, Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s Elpidio Mero made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adan Ondino in the 93rd minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Pinocho Pelotari F.C.'s Elpidio Mero. But to his dismay, Elpidio Mero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pinocho Pelotari F.C..
