Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Hakan Avcu in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Egemen Kural saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arif Egemen Kural made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Ahmet Hakan Avcu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arif Egemen Kural saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Aral Lefter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bakırköy SK's Arif Egemen Kural played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 31st minute of play. Arif Egemen Kural showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Arif Egemen Kural took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bircan Tacik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arif Egemen Kural made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 39th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Bakırköy SK's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Arif Egemen Kural reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arif Egemen Kural took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 48th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Bakırköy SK were awarded a corner. Cirilo Jungejohan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Bakırköy SK's Ayhan Diriğ to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cirilo Jungejohan hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 82nd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arif Egemen Kural. Arif Egemen Kural yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arif Egemen Kural. The goal made the score 2-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bircan Tacik in the 90th minute of play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Primitivo Andino the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Primitivo Andino had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Bakırköy SK a penalty, 100 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cirilo Jungejohan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. 3-2.
