With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pascual Carballar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gottfrid Haström saved Pihl United from getting behind. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Shea Caballero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Ferreira in the 18th minute of play. Pihl United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luc Fontaine in the 19th minute. The corner led Pihl United's Luc Fontaine to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Kevin Mastache hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio-Roberto Ramos in the 23rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Tommy Sundberg sent off a good shot on target. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Pihl United's Shea Caballero in the 27th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Pedro Manzanares was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Colombia through an amazing save. After 28 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luc Fontaine who took care of the corner kick. Luc Fontaine made a great header on Pihl United's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 30th minute of play forced Pihl United's goalkeeper Gottfrid Haström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, one of Colombia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Colombia. Gottfrid Haström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Waselewicz in the 40th minute of play. Ball Balla hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Pascual Carballar's late challenge caught a Pihl United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascual Carballar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Carballar to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 52nd minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gottfrid Haström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gottfrid Haström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 60 minutes into the match, Colombia's Axel Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gottfrid Haström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio-Roberto Ramos in the 65th minute of the match. Axel Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gottfrid Haström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pihl United made a substitution. Anderson Leal replaced Sergio-Roberto Ramos. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 71st minute of play forced Pihl United's goalkeeper Gottfrid Haström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Colombia booed when Pihl United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolaas Anelka didn't get a good kick on the ball.
