The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivor Sadler during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Shakhtar Donetsk getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ivor Sadler hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Francisco Seco took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Harvey Smith to make any attempt to save it. 38 minutes into the match, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's goalkeeper Harvey Smith had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Shakhtar Donetsk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Ethan Stiles shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ethan Stiles's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ivor Sadler hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Uruguay's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
