Abdurrahim Şahinoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo Ferrant hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdurrahim Şahinoğlu in the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of ....... booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 39th minute Abdurrahim Şahinoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet Orhan Usal was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After 45 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. The supporters of ....... booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lautaro Puig during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 56th minute. 72 minutes into the game, .......'s Murathan Olgunsoy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 86th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kahraman Turan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Abdurrahim Şahinoğlu came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the ....... players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
