Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stasio Borowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 6th minute, Stasio Borowski made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Stasio Borowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karol Karbowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Stasio Borowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Karol Karbowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. After 22 minutes Herbalists Opole's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karol Karbowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Karol Karbowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 minutes Herbalists Opole's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Karol Karbowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Herbalists Opole booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Stasio Borowski came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Herbalists Opole fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stasio Borowski couldn't finish the play. Karol Karbowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karol Karbowski saved Herbalists Opole from getting behind.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stasio Borowski made a kick off. In the 56th minute Stasio Borowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karol Karbowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of the match. In the 79th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Herbalists Opole's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stasio Borowski in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Herbalists Opole's goalkeeper Karol Karbowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stasio Borowski's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute Herbalists Opole were awarded a corner. Stasio Borowski went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rafal Cwojdak almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sylwester Barna in the 90th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Herbalists Opole were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
