Olimpiu Barbăneagră took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Vrejiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 19 minutes into the match, UFC Mahmudie's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Cristinel Vrejiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudiu Coidum charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudiu Coidum the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claudiu Coidum kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Jose Correa had to leave the field with a concussion. After 27 minutes, Maxim Lupeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Mahmudie and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Venezuela's Enrique Pozo was substituted for Jose Correa. Maxim Lupeanu hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Cristinel Vrejiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudiu Coidum got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Călin Agulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Cristinel Vrejiu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 53 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in UFC Mahmudie's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Vrejiu came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Claudiu Coidum made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Călin Agulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in UFC Mahmudie fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! After a long run with the ball, Tomas Illescas did a trick in the 68th minute in front of UFC Mahmudie's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 2-2. An impressive performance by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas! UFC Mahmudie's Viorel Ştoia was substituted for Denis Mardarie. Adrian Antoniu scored 3-2 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee ignored UFC Mahmudie's protests and gave Gigel Alecu a yellow card for diving instead. Gigel Alecu kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute.
