Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivo Guterres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Raul Leal notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Martínez during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 played minutes SC Freiburg 09 got a freekick which was hit by David Martínez. In the 29th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raul Leal to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abílio Passos, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Daniel Zorita shot from long distance in the 54th minute, but Ivo Guterres was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 09's Mehmet Ferit İsmet got a free kick in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Nuno Bragança had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nuno Bragança was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Leal in the 76th minute of the match. After 78 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mehmet Ferit İsmet who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasco Brás in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Raul Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Raul Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abílio Passos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
