The audience was convinced that Gentil Setúbal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rolando Noboa was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gentil Setúbal to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Gentil Setúbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Gentil Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Terceirense F.C.'s Fabien Raillard was substituted for Aldo Anjos. Terceirense F.C. made a substitution. Gunnar Löfgren replaced Aleksander Kapera. Terceirense F.C.'s Donovan Daval was substituted for Gentil Setúbal. In the 68th minute, Olof Unesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Máximo Laureano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 94th minute. Terceirense F.C.:s Máximo Laureano showed great skill when he stopped Eliseo Mina:s penalty. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Terceirense F.C..
