Rudy Kauffman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nicasio Sidoro in the 15 minute of the game. Ivan Navarro kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Ian Sparks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro skillfully saved the ball. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 24 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rudy Kauffman. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lautaro Navarro. The supporters of Rapid booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Villa made a kick off. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Palban in the 54th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leon Palban's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Rapid were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Honduras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ian Sparks took the corner. After taking down the ball on Rapid's corner Ian Sparks fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lautaro Navarro quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Ian Sparks came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rapid's Rudy Kauffman got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute of the game Radoslaw Borkowski made a throw-in which Ian Sparks played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Palban in the 66th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. In the 72nd minute of the match Nicasio Sidoro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 76 played minutes Rapid got a freekick which was hit by Leon Palban. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Sparks in the 78th minute of the match. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trent Salter hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radoslaw Borkowski in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th match minute, Rapid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trent Salter to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 94 minutes, Leon Palban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Palban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 95 played minutes Rapid got a freekick which was hit by Trent Salter. Honduras's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Rapid had won, even though Honduras had held more of the ball.
