Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tomasz Piwko in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Stelian Joldea sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomasz Piwko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomasz Piwko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes in the game Teobald Wawrukiewicz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tanek Ratulowski. If Apolo Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
