Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Sheriff from getting a goal against them. Heitor Paim Belluci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Dominguez in the 15th minute of the match. When Sheriff's Natalio Dominguez in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brazil's goalie prevented a goal. Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Aguiar Farias in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Clayton Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Paim Belluci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Brazil's Danilo Aguiar Farias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yahia van der Saar. That made the score 1-0 after 33 minutes of play. Clayton Gol scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Heitor Paim Belluci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Yahia van der Saar made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Alexandre Paz Rocha sent off a good shot on target. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Macedo Sanches in the 42nd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Yahia van der Saar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the last second Yahia van der Saar throw himself and got hold of the ball when Diogo Paim Macedo in the 44thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. With an all-out effort, Brazil's Yahia van der Saar threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Diogo Paim Macedo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clayton Gol was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sheriff's Natalio Dominguez got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Aguiar Farias in the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Paz Rocha came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damaso Xacintu struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Heitor Paim Belluci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sheriff. Sheriff's Akakios Trachanas was substituted for Dagan Pavlovic. Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Paz Rocha in the 72nd minute of play. Brazil's Murilo Bueno Lobo was substituted for Diogo Paim Macedo. Sheriff's attentive Notis Filippas managed to snatch the ball when Murilo Barros Rosa made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. 84 minutes in the game, Damaso Xacintu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Heitor Paim Belluci having to interfere. Yahia van der Saar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murilo Bueno Lobo in the 85th minute of play. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivo Reis Quadros in the 87th minute of the match. Brazil's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ivo Reis Quadros in the 88th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Danilo Aguiar Farias heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Aguiar Farias in the 89th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Murilo Bueno Lobo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahia van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Pedroso Kimura in the 94th minute of the match.
