In the 21st minute of the match Fathoni Andrich shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fathoni Andrich might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fathoni Andrich ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viggo Jönsätt to make the kick off. Ivan Sjögren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 62ndth minute of the game Viggo Jönsätt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, FC Zorro's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ivan Sjögren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Sjögren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play forced FC Zorro's goalkeeper Ivan Sjögren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Zorro's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A hard shot 83 in the game by Higinio Garci from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Ivan Sjögren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Viggo Jönsätt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Zorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Viggo Jönsätt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the game, Frank Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Zorro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Frank Neiva hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ivan Sjögren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.
