Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 孟响永 having to interfere. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
