Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Udalaitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th match minute, Brandy Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Ferdinand to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teo Cidro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Cidro having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Sixto Bartoleme kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 61st match minute, Brandy Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixto Bartoleme to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Ciro Ferdinand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Ciro Ferdinand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Udalaitz in the 77th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Daniel Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. Although Brandy Central had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
